The Conference Service and Support Committee meets every Thursday at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET. The World Service Conference is where decisions and actions are taken for the benefit of A.R.T.S. as a whole.This Committee will be organizing the logistics of the Conference, reviewing motions and topics of discussion, and setting the Conference Agenda. Here is an overview of what is involved on the Service and Support Committee:
- Sets dates and times for the annual World Service Conference (WSC)
- Reviews Motions and Topics of Discussion submitted for the WSC as to what to include on the agenda Works with those who submit them to prepare them further as needed. This may mean sending things back to a Committee, group or individual for further work, or giving an explanation of the motion will not be included in the upcoming Conference
- Sets the agenda for the meetings of the WSC
- Stays in communication with Meeting Delegates and the fellowship as to what is happening, with support from the World Service Office (WSO)
- Prepares the materials for the Conference for members and Meeting Delegates to review (Delegate Packet) with support from the WSO. This material needs to be ready two months in advance of the WSC annual meeting.
- Encourages groups/meetings to send their Delegates, help answer their questions (with support from WSO)
- Does not require attending the WSC, but does mean ensuring that there are volunteers to help run the Conference
- Assists in creating the World Service Conference Report after the annual meeting.
- Members of the Conference Service and Support Committee may also serve as Delegates.
- This Committee can have a Delegate at the Conference, who votes. No one person can have more than one vote, however
- This Committee also serves any Special Sessions of the WSC that may occur outside the annual Conference meeting
